With strick process that included the revision of certificates and in loco audits, the Agriculture and Livestock Ministry (MAPA) conquered two new marketplaces for brazilian animal protein trading. Beef and Pork are already enabled to be exported to Diminican Republic.
As the second largest economy in Central America and Caribbean, the presents itself as a promising destiny for brazilian meat. The mark represents about 120 tons of annual import.
“This is one of the biggest openings for the brazilian pork market in the last decade. An important trade relationship for Brazil because it generates even more opportunity to the agricultural Workers, agrindustry and of trade in the producing municipalities. It is a virtuous cycle and that is why President Lula and MAPA have been working hard to stregthen international relations”, explained the Minister of Agricultura and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro.
In march, the minister was with the Dominican Republic ambassador in Brazil, Patrícia Villegas de Jorge, to talk about the subject. Since then, the negotiations advanced until the process conclusion of the marketplace openings this week.
With the marketplace open for beef and pork to Brazil, at least seven brazilian facilities are already enabled to perform the product exportation. Other estabilishiments are under review.
In all, since the beginning of 2023, Brazilian agricultural products, with an export diversification agenda, have already opened 29 markets in the Americas, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
