Wholesale market prices without sustain

Segunda-feira, 14 de agosto de 2023 - 16h00

Last week, the Father’s Day raised the sales at the retail end due to its higher demand, that may stay high until the week’s end. However, the boneless and boned meat prices didn’t have sustain in the wholesale end, showing that the retail prices didn’t get a noteworthy growth.

At the wholesale market, the boned meat prices dropped 1,5% for the cow and 1,0% for the heifer. The respective prices for each of then were: R$13,50/kg and R$14,40/kg.

The price of castrated cattle carcass fell 0.9%, traded at R$15.50/kg. For the carcass of whole cattle, an increase of 0.5%, priced at R$14.01/kg.

In São Paulo wholesale boneless meat, the average price retreated 0,6%. The average price of hind cuts fell by 0,4%, with emphasis on the cover of fillet and drumstick (2.4%). The average price of front cuts fell 1,1%, pulled by the tenderloin, with a fall of 2,4%.

In retail, the average prices of monitored cuts fell 0,6% and 2,1% in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, respectively. In Minas Gerais, there was an increase of 0,1% and, in Paraná, stability in the weekly comparison.

After the Father’s Day weekend and with the advance of the second half of the month, domestic demand is expected to decrease. As a result, negative price adjustments are not ruled out.  However, as retail sales are expected to intensify towards the end of the week, positive reflections may appear in quotations at the beginning of next week.
