Eggs: august’s first ten days are branded with looseness and price drops

In the egg market, the word is that the current stocks remain high at retail. At the wholesale market and farms, offer is overcoming the demand. With that, pricess dropped in the week.

At paulista’s farms, the thirty dozen eggs box is being sold at R$ 152,50, withdraws of 1,3% and 6,0% in the seven and thirty day comparatives, respectively. In the twelve month comparison, the farmer reference is 4,1% higher.

At the wholesale market, there was a downward bias. The thirty dozen eggs box is being sold for R$ 157,00, withdraws of 1,3% and 6,2%, respectively, in the seven and thirty day comparison. In a year reference, the price paid at the wholesale market is 4,0% higher.

Until the first ten days of august, the corn trade ratio remained stable, looking at the numbers from 2023’ july. There are necessary 5,93 boxes to buy 1 ton of the input, against 5,91 boxes in july.

In the short term, the downward bias must remain and, with the second half coming, may intensify.
